Fresh DJI Neo Leaks Ahead of September 5 Release + Latest Leaked Images of the DJI Air 3S
BY Zacc Dukowitz
28 August 2024It seems like we’re always anticipating the imminent launch of a DJI drone.
And that means we’re always sifting through DJI leaks, reading the tea leaves to see what the next new drone might be capable of and when it might actually come out.
Recently the DJI Neo and the DJI Air 3S have been the hot topic for leaks. And now new leaks have revealed even more about both drones—let’s take a look at everything we know for each one.
Neo Release Date Keeps Changing—But We Know Almost Everything about It
First, drone industry insiders said the DJI Neo was going to come out on August 20. Then it changed to August 29—which would have been just yesterday.
But DJI hadn’t announced any kind of launch for either of those dates, making it clear even at the time that a release was unlikely.
Now we know in no uncertain terms—the Neo will come out next Thursday, September 5.

It looks like the Neo will be a new kind of selfie drone—new for DJI, anyway.
There’s already a drone out there called the HoverAir X1, which is so similar to the forthcoming Neo that Zero Zero Robotics, the company that makes the HoverAir, has quickly pushed out upgrades to try and get ahead of DJI before its launch.

The HoverAir X1 Pro Max will have an impressive camera—better than the Neo’s—that comes with a 1/1.3″ sensor and 16mm wide-angle lens that can capture 8K video at 30fps in 10-bit HDR.
But one thing the Neo will have that the HoverAir X1 Max won’t is voice control—which is pretty incredible.
In fact, we know almost everything about the Neo’s specs since they were leaked via an Australian website that prematurely published its sales page for the drone.

Since then, several more credible leaks have come out, making it clear that DJI is actually working on an Air 3S.
In one of the most recent leaks, we saw this clear photo of the Air 3S from reliable leaker OsitaLV.
In the picture we can see some highlights of Air3S on that laptop.

In the post, OsitaLV calls out the info on the laptop behind the image of the drone, giving us a short list of specs for the Air 3S:
- Sensor technology. Utilizes a Sony CMOS sensor, likely the IMX320, for high-quality image capture.
- Dynamic range. Offers a 14EV dynamic range, specifically optimized for capturing stunning sunset scenes.
- Noise reduction. Features enhanced noise reduction capabilities to ensure clearer images under various conditions.
- Panorama capability. Capable of composing on-board panoramas with resolutions up to 13000×6500 pixels for expansive scene capture.

Based on these tweets and other leaks, it looks like we can extrapolate a little more about what we might find in the Air 3S:
- Video quality. Supports 4K video capabilities, allowing for high-resolution video recording.
- HDR modes. Includes High Dynamic Range (HDR) modes to enhance contrast handling in varied lighting conditions.
- ISO sensitivity. Features advanced ISO sensitivity settings, optimizing performance in low-light environments.
- Color and noise. Offers enhanced color reproduction and noise reduction for clearer, more vibrant images.
Unlike the Neo, we don’t yet have a release date for the Air 3S. But given all these leaks, we imagine it will come out before the end of the year.
