According to Venezuela’s national aviation authority, the National Institute of Civil Aeronautics (INAC), flying a drone is legal in Venezuela, but we recommend being aware of and compliant with the drone regulations listed below before doing so.

General Rules for Flying a Drone in Venezuela

Based on our research and interpretation of the laws there do not seem to be specific laws in place for drone operations in Venezuela, although there is a robust licensing system.

Licensing Requirements for Flying a Drone in Venezuela

Venezuela has several categories of licenses for drone operations. Here are the basic requirements for obtaining a license to operate a drone in Venezuela:

• Applicants must be a Venezuelan or a national of a country that grants reciprocal treatment for the granting of licenses to Venezuelans.
• Speak, read, and write the Spanish language.
• Possess a current Aeronautical Medical Certificate appropriate to the type of license.
