Drone Video of Humpback Whale Surfacing Right Next to Kayaker

Sutton Lynch has developed a reputation for his incredible drone footage of aquatic life shot primarily off the coast of Long Island. He often shoots aerial video of whales—like this one of a humpback whale surfacing right next to a kayaker. About the shot, Lynch said, “It’s difficult to fully understand the scale of these whales when there aren’t any familiar objects to compare them to. Realizing that a kayak is about the same size, if not smaller, than just the whale’s mouth helps put things into perspective.” Lynch’s work was recently featured in the New York Times.
